Make Balloon Decorations

Creating amazing balloon decor is not really all that hard. After learning just a few basics you'll be ready to decorate like a pro.

The Basics

3 Simple Rules

1 - Always use fresh, quality balloons. The ones you buy at party stores are often stale and of a low quality. Make sure you get GOOD balloons or no matter how hard you work, it won't look good.

2 - Size your balloons with a sizer. To make the decor look good, each balloon in a column needs to be the same size as every other balloon. The same goes for arches, garlands and even centerpieces.

3 - Allow enough time. You don't want to feel rushed. Use High- Float if you need the decor to last. Don't expect to go in and throw it up in a few minutes.

How-To Balloon Doublets

Balloon Doublet

Inflate 2 balloons of the same color, size them and tie them together.

Don't tie them separately and then tie them together. Only make one knot per doublet.

Do this again with your second color balloons.

How-To Balloon Quads

Balloon Quad

Twist the two doublets together in the middle. Wrap one balloon doublet over the knot of the other balloons to form a cluster of four balloons.

You want to end with the balloons alternating in colors.

That's pretty much all there is to it. Just keep inflating, sizing, twisting and stacking until you have reached the desired length.

With a little practice you'll become confident enough to start making more creative things. Vary the shape of the frame and you can make just about anything. Hearts are very popular and very easy. Other more complex sculptures, may require you to graduate the size of the balloons as you go.

It only looks much harder than it is.
